The Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DD) is requesting a renewal of its current 1.85 mill property tax to maintain support for services to individuals with developmental disabilities and operations at Forest Rose School.
The levy raises one-third, or about $7.38 million of the $22 million operating costs for Fairfield County Board of DD.

Why does Fairfield DD need this funding?
Put simply: to serve people in the community who have developmental disabilities. Fairfield County is the fifth fastest-growing county in Ohio since 2010, which means the demand for services is rising exponentially.
Compared to the 2015 levy request, Fairfield DD’s current organizational model has shifted to accommodate the need for more robust services and a stronger community network to address the range of needs across the lifespan from birth through adulthood.
As Fairfield DD works tirelessly with Fairfield County officials to fill service gaps, the renewal is critical to conserve these efforts at a minimum, while strategizing new ways to move as one: one mission, one team, one community.
What measures are in place to ensure that the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities are being met appropriately?
Fairfield DD’s focus has continually been toward increasing community-centric service and support for all ages with developmental disabilities.
This includes the availability of assistive technology and remote supports, reliability of public transportation and housing options, and educational materials on topics like financial literacy, legal rights, and transitioning to independence.
Fairfield DD recognizes the vital importance of connecting people with possibilities, which is why they strive for a waitlist of zero, because no one should have to put their needs on hold. Fairfield DD currently has zero people on its waitlist.
How does the funding support Forest Rose School?
Our educational programs are indicative of proper application of the funding it receives by adapting to the evolving needs of people with developmental disabilities.
Students with varying medical, developmental, and intellectual abilities are met with the necessary support to help them thrive in academic settings alongside their peers.
By creating an equitable environment for these individuals, Fairfield DD can focus on building essential life skills and social connections.
