Fairfield DD Operating Levy

The Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DD) is requesting a renewal of its current 1.85 mill property tax to maintain support for services to individuals with developmental disabilities and operations at Forest Rose School.

It is set to expire at the end of 2025 after a 10-year term, and currently funds one-third of Fairfield DD’s operating budget, which supplies essential resources and provider support for nearly 2,000 individuals annually.

SAME AMOUNT AS 2015

The RENEWAL of the levy will NOT increase your tax rate.

You will pay the same dollar amount you are currently paying, regardless of property tax value changes. The levy costs property owners $40 for every $100,000 in property value per year. While there has been an increase of 64% in individuals served since 2015, Fairfield DD is not asking for an increased levy.

A GROWING NEED

Operational funding from this renewal is directly tied to the output of resources.

Fairfield DD understands the urgency of meeting the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, which is why a waitlist of zero is prioritized to ensure the person or family is immediately matched with the appropriate resources and community services. This commitment helps individuals and families get the support they need without unnecessary delays.

CREATING SUSTAINABLE CHANGE

Funding for the renewal enables Fairfield DD to facilitate critical supports, learning opportunities and community connections for individuals with developmental disabilities to lead them toward greater independence.

As a resource hub for individuals, this funding maximizes Fairfield DD’s mission to bring about a vibrant community where people lead lives of greater independence and make meaningful contributions.
